get a heat gun... or burn up your girlfriends hair dryer... a heat gun is lots faster... heat it up and scrape it off with a puddy knife... it aint easy to do but you can get 76 pounds off the car by takin that sh@# out...

here is a post wit a pic of what it looks like... this stuff is all over in your interior... heat guns and putty knives work wonders but it takes forever to get it out...http://www.club240.com/forums/showth...ening+material

OR you can just go buy a big chunk of dry ice and put that over the sound damper.....it will just break off....um...search for that.....weight reduction dry ice.... alot easier than the puttynice and heatgun

I also put all the bits in to a box and put it on the scale. 6.8 pounds for just a small area! I bet there is 76 pounds of that crap in there!

I'm sure theres somthing lighter out there that will still cut down the noise level. But I don't care to much about it. Will see if i feel the same way after drivin it for awhile

the 76 lbs includes the mat along the firewall... when i was saying sound deadening i mean all of it... there is also some of it in the rear quarter panels and the doors... the dry ice works for a lot of it... but you will have to use the heat gun method when removing it from the inside of the doors and along the firewall...

Thx guys i now have something else to take out of my car!!

lol, but seriously for 76 pounds that's like driving with a 10-14 year old brother/sister, and then throwing them out the window!!
