hey import fanatix, (i assume you have sportlines)
i am debating whether to get sportlines or pros, maybe you can help me decide?

i want a stiff spring, for the occaional autoX buy mostly for just screwing around with my friends. i'm worried that the sportlines will be too stiff for daily driving and, say...with a chick in the car who is going to complain about the bumpyness (<<is that a word?). i also want a low car but not too low that i can't go in any parking lots w/o scrapin the bottom. what do u think?

also if i go with a stiff spring and adjustable shocks, can i make the ride soft even with the stiff springs?

I actually like the sportline look with larger rims. I would have went for them if I had some big rims to fill the gap.

well this is the only other pic that I really have of it from the side spitz. THe drop is definitely lower than the pro kit and not that low (wish it was though). The ride will obviously be a little stiffer, but remember we do drive a sports car and it is a little stiff anyway, but nothing to kill the kidneys and especially if you use a set of adjustable shocks, i.e. KYB AGX, then u can also adjust the feel, from soft to hard.

I only really bottomed out if going down a ramp a little too fast, and over some speed bumps, but nothing major.

well with the 18's for some reason it made it look more gappier, with the stock and bigger sidewalls it does look lower, but thats about where it ended up after like 5 months on 18s.

did the 18s slow you down at all? because my friend put 16s on his cabriolet that came with 14s stock and it slowed his car down. and its not because of the weight of the tires, bigger rims mess with the gear ratio a little.

Did your friend go over the diameter of the origional 14" + Sidewall? That would lead to a different ratio.

i'm sure he did, but only a little. what i'm asking import fanatix is if his 18s went over the stock 15s + sidewall (slowing the car down).

definitely slowed the car down due to the added weight and diameter of tire. The gear ratios actually increased due to me using 40 sidewalls (needed the protection for the rim), but it made a hell of a difference in handling. When i took them off, the car was never the same. So some speed loss or a great more handling. I rather go with the latter IMHO

i think i'm going with 17x8s all the way around. i should be able to get the better handling w/o having to sacrifice speed.
