stock 240 vs stock prelude
stock 240 vs stock prelude
lets say a stock 1995 240sx raced a stock 2000 prelude
the 240 a 5 speed and the honda a 4 speed auto with tiptronic shifting
which car would win in a quarter mile race?

the 240 should, i used to own a prelude but ive never raced a 240. the automatic prelude is a pig, its around 3100 lbs without driver(approx) and the h22 is 200hp/165tq to the crank not to mention its fwd so it wouldnt do so well launching from a dig compared to rwd. and im going to assume we all know 240 specs
not too sure about that henry, according to a website i found on google:
2000 Honda Prelude - 0-60: 6.8; 1/4 mile: 15.4
1995 Nissan 240SX SE - 0-60: 8.3; 1/4 mile: 16.1

auto preludes are slower yuta, they weigh more and have a little less hp because of the auto tranny. auto preludes should average around 16sec , im sure its similar to the 240 but the 240 has launch advantage being rwd
My friend Rollyn is on BAY AREA preludes. This was his dyno with a VAFC and bolt on's (about $500 in mods). The torque band on the H22's suck.

Now you can compare that to a under $1000 mods list PDM racing KA.

The only advantage that the preludes have in the 1/4mile time is the added traction and grip from front wheel drive. If all the USDM 240sx's came with VLSD the added grip could gain anywhere from a .5~.2 gain in the 1/4mile. Not to mention the gear ratio of the open diff sucks compared to the VLSD from the J30 infinti.
I also believe that the H22's use a fully counter weighed crank that allows for the additional rev and redline, KA's use half weighted cranks that shortens the rev and redline.
