Are Super Hicas S13's worth looking at?
Is this a sought after option worth looking into or just a silly gimmick? Are Super Hicas more maintnence intensive then a normal 240?
I've done a search but haven't found answers so any help would be appreciated.

I just pruchased a 93 Super Hicas. They are very rare, and from what I was told are the coolest one's. They have the nice LSD steering, which I can tell you is awesome. It is another part to maintain, but for me it's worth it. It also has 4 wheel ABs, I don't know if regular s13's came with this or not, but they are really nice as well.

If your on pavement, I woudn't suggest drifting.
1. It will blow your HICAS
2. It is more difficult to drift on asphalt or pavement due to the HICAS correcting the car in a drift.
Were do you drift in wisconson? Is there a track you belong to?

If it's the same price or only ~$500 or less more than a non-hicas car, then I'd say its worth it.
The hicas system is relatively heavy and can do some things that you don't really want it to. There are a few companies that make Hicas-Delete kits in Japan that allow you to lose the rear steering rack.
The ABS in the 240 is rather primitive... I'd likely pull the fuse on it.
But, it will come with an LSD. And I would pay $500 more just to have that installed without me having to find one and put it in.

Compared to the ABS systems available over the past few years, the ABS system that Nissan put in the 240 is crude - it works, but a lot of experienced driver will be able to threshold brake better than the ABS will be able to stop the car.

im pretty sure that if you just disable the hicas it will drift just fine,i have 92 hicas and im pretty sure my hicas is disabled because if i want it to, i can kick out the rears and slide it no problem, but im not sure totally sure if hicas is disabled or not, because the oversteer usualy corrects the drift and not throttle control, im prolly just not sliding long enough to have to throttle it, my hicas light in the car is lit up and red, does that mean its on, or its disabled? i gots no idea ? since i didnt get a manual with my 240 when i bought it lol
