Timing chain noise help??

I have a 89 240 with only 77k on it and the original owner took very good care of the car and didnt drive it rough at all. When i start the car up in the morning i hear the timing chain make a little bit of noise for a couple of seconds and then go away. It only seems to do it when the car has been sitting awhile. Do i need to just take off the guides or replace the tensioner? And do i need to do this soon or will it be okay for awhile because its not constant? thanks for your help

you can loosen the thing that the timing chain goes to. crap i forgot the name of it, but i just recently did this.. and you all you do is loosen 2 bolts and then there's a tension control thing you tighten, that's it.. but sorry if that made no sense, i forgot all the parts names

take the guide off, leave the tensioner on and make sure the tensioner is moving freely

There is a guide for the chain that keeps it in place.. and i would bet that would be it... I have to replace mine as well...

It's not the timing chain. I changed my timing chain on mine along with the tensioners and it still did that. I'm guessing it is lifters tapping like crazy. It only did it during the summer though. Unless it was something rattling around in the engine bay... Does it sound like this? http://nissancrew.com/exhaust.mov

I think it's either the guide, or maybe a sprocket... Atleast with my car the noise can be easily described as the chain slapping together or against something.
