your info on the rev limiter has to be wrong...

i got my 240 today finally...and i took it on the highway....i was clearly going 190+ KM/h

1 mile = 1.609344 kilometers......

115 miles is 185 kilometers....and i still had space to go....later on i'll try to get it over 200 km/h.

as of now i gotta wait until monday to drive....because insurance company closed before i could put the insurance on it. i'm not gonna take any chances.

Everyone keeps telling me JWT ECU's are the way to go to raise the rev limit, kill the speed limit, and slightly change the "power curve" (don't know the exact term). I used to have a JWT ECU in my last car (FF 200SX SE-R) and it was great.

Since this is on the topic, does anyone else know any alternatives to the JWT ECU that will do the same thing?

There was anothe ecu modifier I saw on freshalloy, however I can't remember the name. I'll try and look it up. They weren't as well known, but were known to have just as good performance and not as bad communication and 8 week return period like JWT.

dr. nova scotia - i would like to know who they are.

there is a cheap way to remove the speed governor (stop refering to it as the rev limiter, it just adds to the confusion), you can find it in www.********** but I've heard it doesn't work well

to raise the rev limiter and to rid of the speed governor so far the only options are JWT ECU or a full standalone system.

also the APEX'i speed meter gets rid of the speed governor (speed governor only, not rev limiter) on some cars, not sure if it works w/ the 240.

GUNLINE - your caps lock stuck?

Anyways, there is no danger in lifting the speed limiter as long as your tires are capable. This is the reason for them. The manufacturer must provide tires capable to the the top speed of the car.

Since lower speed tires are cheaper and high speeds an extremely rare (and illegal) request, they use lower end tires and lock the car to the max speed of those tires (usually about 3-5 mph below them for speed errors).

Theres the Greddy speed limit thing and the HKS Speed Cut defenser but they do not change the rev limit...also i think all engines from japan have a speed limit...3sgte from Japan(MR2) is like 125 or so...B16(eww) is like 117.

my speedometer(stupid digital clusters)is broken but i got it upto 6k once.. i was told that translates into around 140mph.... easy alternitive to JWT ECU if you just want to get rid of speedlimiter, get an s13 dohc automatic ecu(i think s14 auto ecu will work aswell..), and.. i forgot what its called.. but one of those things that adjusts the fuel and according to how much air its getting.. because the ecu wont have a map for 5th gear...

I heard that there is a wire that you can cut that cuts off the speed limiter, but I am not sure which or whatever. An d I know for sure that whatever you do, you should not take out your gov chip because the rev limiter is very important. You dont want to over rev. If you just want your car to go its top speed, you should upgrade your chip, that way you still have the rev limiter, so youre engine is still safe. That is my understanding of everything. PEACE

im not exactly sure what rating my tires are...but i am pretty sure i exceeded the rating....they are all seasons and i was goin 210km/h (guess of 210...speedo only goes to 200 and my needles was burried)

but i never felt safer going that speed....i could have gone faster if the car would let me. there was another 1000 or so rpms left before redline.
