transmission power?
i don't think that the SR will bolt to the ka tranny.
i'v never heard of a ka tranny self destructing under load.
one guy had a mishap with his clutch. thats all ive ever seen.
also the biggest hp ka i'v seen was somewhere in the 400hp range i think.

ok the ka will not bolt to the sr..
and why would u want to..
the gear ratios are the same..
(from what ive heard)
if u have stock ka gearing i will compare the 2
but anyways..
someguy destroyed his trans..
but he was being a dick doing donuts..
and the faulty part was the actual trans but some flywheel bolts i believe...
stan knows more about this than i do but the trans is pretty strong..
even the new sr 6spd trans is strong..
although there were some doubts at first..

KA tranny is a workhorse. Remember its the same tranny thats used in its pickups and those were made with towing/weight in mind. SO if it can tow a boat/and pick up rocks at the gravel pit then It should be strong to me.
From the looks of it, he did mean KA tranny on SR swap?, but who knows

Speaking of trannys, I have an auto, and recently I've occasionally been using the first and second gear shifting on my auto. I know they are used for climbing steep roads, but i liked having the control of when I wanted to shift gears. Kinda dumb I know, but hey, you cope when you want a manual but are stuck with an auto.
With the combo of the OD button, I can control all 4 gears. I was wondering if this would put any extra stress on my transmission. I've also sometimes downshifted to slow the car down when cruising to a light. Would that be more stressful to the tranny as well?

You said it totally right, extra stress on the tranny no doubt about it. Its only really suppose to be used as you said climbing hills.
THe od button should only be off when you have a lot of weight in the car. By doing those things you can start making you automatic slip man and then it'll never be the same.
Leave it alone is my suggestion, this way it'll last longer

lol. sorry for not being more clear. i wasn't referring to the ka tranny in particular... i was just referring to any tranny that you'd put in a 240, be it the ka or the sr. i was just wondering how well they do under boost. i have my answer... thanks.
