Did you try searching first?

By the way, I'm a woman and I would kill you by just putting an engine on my carpet. Either way, leaking oils or not, it's a dirty thing that should stay in the garage.

Do you have a basement? Or some kind of storage room? I'm just trying to save your *** from your wife.

ok if the tranny and motor is togather in ur room, that means the bulk of the fluid in the tranny has already come out. all u have to do is place a big trash bag under the motor to help if any thing happens to still be in there. if u pull the tranny off of the motor nothing will leak, the fluid is in the gear box, not the bellhousing

Wow...I hope your wife doesn't like the carpet there. Be prepared to replace it. Even if you drain it, the engine will still have a significant amount of oil and coolant left in it. You might want to buy a drip pan. It will be a large rectangular metal pan.

if the motor is in his room, like i said the bulk of the fluid will be out. the only way that the colant from the block will come out is if he tips the motor all the way over

cripes, how big is your bedroom? Go to Home Depot and invest in some tarp, it will save you the money in carpet replacement should something go wrong. Being very careful is a given...

He said he was taking it apart so that it can be machined. That would indicate removing the pistons, rods, and the crank, all of which are unbolted from the bottom of the engine. Unless he's going to try to take it apart while laying underneath it he's going to end up turning the engine upside down.
