Trunk Rattle

There was already a thread about this when i searched, but it didnt help me any. So im pretty sure its the two black cross-bars that hold the trunk lid up in my S14. Theres a little red thing that goes in between and i used a foam tub first thinking it would work. Anyone have this problem and got it fixed?

Dude, you dont have to answer every thread. lol I found out that it is the trunk lid its self. Ill try and use some bike grips over the old rubber stops and see how it goes. And i heard if you buy new ones they dont stay good for very long.

the bike grip thing is what i did and it worked for sure. if thats not it then try a small amount, i mean small amount of the GREAT STUFF expanding foam. that will fill the gap and stop the rattle

on the great stuff foam... be very careful... we used to do that a lot in the car audio business... and you sure dont expect that stuff to expand as much as it does... if you use too much it will actually put dents in the trunk lid itself... my suggestion there would be insert the hose into one hole and hit the spray button for no more than 2 seconds... then let that expand and dry befor trying to add more... takes a few hours to dry completely... oh yeah and make sure you have plastic on the trunk floor if you close the lid... it will run ut and completly mess up your carpeting...

werd... i can get a pic of the grips. i just used some grips that are really squishy, that way they can be smashed and not moved when they are. i think they costed me like $3 for 2 of them. if you do this make sure you use the end that is closed so they look like part of the car.

I built the spaces where the rubber plungers go temporarily until i could find some good grips.
