Lightbulb Twin Turbo SR20DET MOTOR?

hey does anyone know if you were to put 2 turbos on a SR20DET what would you have to do to it to handle it? I know they make a SR20DETT engine that has 2 turbos stock, but those are rare and really hard to come buy. IF anyone has attempted it or know's anyone that does or has, please fill me in with some info

sure go for it, but i wouldn't recommend stock turbos, you might need to get something smaller...

No, apparently you don't know, since they never made an
SR20DETT.

There were never, ever, any SR20DETT motors produced by Nissan. There have been a few done as custom jobs, but they're more for the originality factor than actual function.

If you have some spare small turbos around and the parts to weld up a custom manifold than it may be worth your time to make a twin turbo setup. If you're some kind of masochistic psycho you could make up your own dual sequential setup.

In the end, there are plenty of turbos sized perfectly for the SR, there's really no need to use duals on it... and if you have to have the manifolds made up and have to buy turbos then it's a waste of a lot of money that would have given more power spent on a good single turbo setup.

as justin said, any SR20DETT youve seen was made purely to be different. i wouldnt recomend doing it at all, as it would be far from practical.

SR20DETT

OK, WELL I STAND CORRECTED THANKS JUSTIN FOR YOUR INFO, NOW I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION? DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET ALL THE SPECS FOR THE SR20DET MOTOR?

CUS I PLAN ON DOING A LITTLE BRAIN SURGERY ON IT AND REPLACING THE PISTONS AND RODS AND THE CAM. AND JUSTIN WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE GREDDY T67 OR T78 TURBO FOR THE SR20? DO YOU RECOMEND ANYTHING? DOES ANYONE RECOMMEND ANYTHING DIFFERENT?

put a t25 and a large t3. this way the t25 spools up quick and by the time the t25 is spooled up the t3 kicks in. my german teacher was a bmw mechanic and told me that alot of race cars use this design.

You could get a custom turbo manifold made for the SR. You might want to think about building the motor before you think about doing that........to much power on stock internals = fried motor.
