My maf is messing up. When ever I tap on it the engine almost dies out.

My thinking is well since I have to replace it why not go bigger? I'm looking at the z32 maf. Do I need a different ecu for it or is it just splice the connectors in and go?

 

I think that if you are going to upgrade your MAF to a Z32 MAF then you would need to definately have your ECU tuned so that the air/fuel ratio is properly set.

Otherwise your car would be running lean and there would be more air than fuel going into the combustion chamber....

Double Check that I could be wrong.

 

Kinda what I've picked up is that I would have to upgrade the fuel injectors also. Wouldn't have been that big of deal but I just bought a set of injectors

 

You don't need an ecu reprogrammed you can always purchase an SMT6 or an APEXI at a fraction of the cost.

 

Well after I put together all the costs I just decided to get a used 240sx Maf sensor for 80.00 not bad when you consider new is 300 to 400. Next pay day muffler upgrade!
