s13's were made from 89-94 and were first gen 240sx's and silvias
s14's were made from 95-98 and were second gen 240sx's and silvias
s15's were made from 99-01 and were only made in Japan on silvias

different gens had different body styles, the JDM (japanese domestic market) silvias came with the sr20det motor, turbocharged and 2.0 liter. The USDM 240sx's came with the ka24de motor naturally aspired and 2.4 liter, the USDM 240sx's have less power than the turbocharged JDM silvias. Silvias are basically the same as the 240sx.

It'll help you to know that the S13 SR20DET was made from '91-'98. Redtops were '91-'93 (silvias and 180sx's), while blacktops were '94'98 (180sx only).

BTW technically S13's were made up to '98, as the 180sx, along side the S14 Silvia.

don't forget the s14a , its a semi-redesigned s14 that ran in the US from 97-98

and the kps-13 (something like that) known as the 180sx in japan, was the first 240sx in the US ... i'm not sure the exact dates so someone else will have to answer that for me

In Japan:
S13 = Silvia w/ CA18, '88-'90
RS13 = 180sx w/ CA18, '88-'90
PS13 = Silvia w/ SR20, '91-'93
RPS13 = 180sx w/ SR20, '91-'98

Those are the exact chassis codes, so don't get confused when anyone refers to any of the as S13 since they all are.
