what about this car...
what about this car...
hello, new to the fourms and i am very interested a s13 that i have seen. 91 coupe (131k mile on chassis), basically stock; stock suspension, stock motor (rebuilt), new radiator just recently, new thermostat, new starter, and a silvia s13 conversion, no sunroof, no power anything, body is in good shape. the silvia conversion is just the front bumper. no sr20, it is a ka24de. there are pictures here http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4289041197 .
i used to drive an fc n/a, and loved that car's ballance a hella-lot. if i correct in saying that the fc and s13 share a very similar ballance 50/50 (or really close to that). the s13 has a muti-link rear suspension set up, which is really nice. my hope it to make this car a regular track/mountain car. i have been in the drifting scene for about 2 years now and want to continue to do so, but on the other hand; wiht all of these "2fast2furious drifters" as i call them, i find myself wanting to better my grip skills just to get a better feel for my car.
live well, drift well, stay forever sideways,
Zach

most def. u'd have a hard time finding a '91 for the price as is, let alone adding in the cost of a full S13 Silvia front end conversion (which usually goes for somewhere around 1g just for parts). if it's in pretty good shape, what the hell, go for it!
to be honest, if i wasn't so UNICEF broke, i'd tell u "helllll nawww! don't trust that ****! leave that problem for the next sucka to come along..." and then scooped that bastard for myself!
mmmm.... an S13 hatch AND coupe? hell yeah!

it is actually about a very old way of judging drifting manuvers. i am going to copy and paste from Club4ag were i (FC3Slider) asked them about gintaco (actually spelled gintako) here is the post....
i think there is a racing team in japan called "GINTACO" which either means silver octopus, or octopus coin. i was wondering if anyone knew anything about them. my friend has a magnet/sticker with that a levin #46 and a silvia #45 drifting, and VIDEO OPTION at the bottom. does anyone here know anyhitng about the team, what the numbers mean. any info would be great.
i didnt know where to put this post so i put it here, because it deals wiht drifting.

In the olden days of OPTION'S drifting competition at local level...in Japan, the title of the events were "Ikasu Hashiriya Tengoku" or shortened to "Ikaten" events.
In these competition, the judges used the following sealife names to rate the driver skill.
Tako (Octopus) - Well executed
Ika (Squid) - Nice Try
Uni (Urchin) - Understeer!
Shijimi (or variation of a clam) - That Sucked!
In the Tako category only, numerical scores were used and 90 points equalled a Gold Tako Decal(Kin-Tako), 80 a silver Tako(Gin Tako)
Aside from the performance, extensive crashes also scored Tako points.
Why Tako? Well in Japan's touge drifter terminology, "TAKO" means you are all over the road out of control... And it can mean sarcastically a great drift, or more properly, an brave attempt that resulted in driver going out of control. "Tako-Ru" is a verb in slang that means "to go out of control, or be out of control in a drift"
Why do I know this? Because I was a drifting enthusiast before most of Club4AG members were still in diapers... Hahha... That's Tako history for you guys! Spread the word!
