im new here on the board.. my old home was jdmcivic.com... im plannin on buying a 240sx! im looking at this 92 240sx coupe, i dont know what model it is, but it has sunroof. i was wondering if it has hicas or not.. i hope it doesnt becuz im tryin to learn how to drift with a couple of my buddies. and what models of 240sx has hicas? and also, if it has hicas, it should have an indicator light on the dash correct? how does this light look like? thanks everyone in advance.

If you are looking at a coupe you do not have to worry about HICAS. HICAS doesn't come equipped on coupes.

Does the car have HUD. HUD shines the speed up on the windshield. If it does and it works that is good. But if it doesn't you could be looking at a $300 problem.

I know this first hand. I own a '93 SE coupe.

Hicas equipped cars will have a stocker just in front of the rear wheel well that says "SuperHICAS".

If the car doesn't have ABS, it doesn't have HICAS.

The easiest definite way to tell is to take a look under the rear of the car - it will have a steering rack mounted to the back. If it's there - HICAS. If it's not there then you don't.

thats good to know, but my friend said all 240 coupes se after like 90' have hicas.. shouldnt there be a light on the gauge cluster telling u if u have hicas or not?? cuz damn, im gettin such a great deal on this 92 240sx coupe from my gf's bro for 500 bucks!! everything works and is good condit. btw the car has power windows and doors..

 

Jesse hit the nail on the head. Just look at the rear end. There will be a steering rack log looking item back there.

Your friend is sadly but I am thankful he is wrong. I have a 93. All power windows, sunroof, mirrors and locks. No Hicas.

Snag that sucker for the $500 before I go get it myself.

You will not have VLSD either. That can be gotten for $3-400.

HUD = heads up display - its tight it shows u ur speed on ur windshied digitaly, only on coupes..

Hicas - 4 wheel steer kinda like prelude SH or one of those BMWs
