WHat should a S14 get for MPG?

Hey guys
I am from Canada and I have a 95 240sx with auto transmission. I have aftermarket muffler and cold air intake. Everything else is all stock. On a full tank (11.40 gallon) of gas my car gets 142 miles. Is this normal? I got new plugs, fuel filter, I am also running a dvd unit with subs and amp but I dont think it would have a big impact. I also keep the overdrive off becuase I mainly do city driving. Let me know guys

haha wow, you either running extremely rich, or you have some serious leaks going on...check out your o2 sensor, timing, injectors to see maybe if you have a leaky cushion/o-ring ect

You should be able to smell gas if there is a fuel leak. I've heard of many S13 (not so sure of the S14, but it can't be too different) sending unit o-ring gaskets warping, creating a leak.

An easy way to check the injectors is to yank the entire fuel rail with the injectors in it. Then try to start the car, and if any of them is shooting/dripping then that one is bad.

Well first of all a automatic only has 4 gears and that wastes gas but if your not getting at least 270 miles of a full tank then something is wrong, check your timing, injectors, gas cap, tires and change your fuel filter.

Isn't the tank closer to 17 gallons?

80% of which gets filled when you have a "full tank" to leave room for gas expansion at warmer temps.

LEAVE YOUR OVERDRIVE ON!!!
Overdrive is used to conserve fuel.
With the overdrive on you should be getting relatively 23MPG freeway, and 21MPG city.
I own a frontier with a VG33e and I get relatively 22MPG Freeway, and 20MPG city. When I turn off my overdrive I get about 20MPG freeway, and 18MPG city.
My 240sx manual gets 30MPG freeway with iridium plugs, high flow CAT, leaned out A/Fr's (SAFC), DC sports header, aluminum flywheel,2.5" exhaust, and electric fans. Timing is back to stock 20btdc. The 240 gets 22MPG,and I have a lead foot.
You can easily increase your gas mileage with exhaust and high flow cat, I always recomend it. Also lower grade fuels other than 91 octane rdon (AKI) will lower your fuel economy as it retatrds timing to knock and ping. Always use 91 Octane on KA24de's!!

Even driving like you stole the bad boy should still yeild 200+ miles on a tank... And I thought S14 tank was 14 or 15 gallons??? When I go fill up (after lagging to do so for a week, and yes, I hardly drive) I dump in a good 12.5 gallons... I'm assuming the tank is either 14 or 15 gallons? Yes?

Thats what i miss in my old 240 is the gas mileage. I didnt have my speedo w/ my SR20, so i couldnt get exact mileage, but i drove from Atlanta, GA to Hilton Head, SC (over 300 miles) and i had 1/4 of a tank when i got to Hilton Head. With the KA i was getting a little over 20 with strictly city driving. Shifting at around 2500-2700rpms.
