Save 1,000 for emergency and spend some money to make the car strong and reliable before modding.
Or you can post your address, phone number, and other info so other people can come over to your house and steal your 5 grand that you stupidly annouced online. Once it's stolen you dont have to worry about what to do.

lmfao, I could say "what would you do with $50 and a hooker" What does that have to do with anything?... Your budget is what you HAVE.... and that will always change, unless you only want to put $5000 in your car and call it quits. If that's the case, don't get a car you're going to drift/drag/race....
I'd say the majority of applications you decide to do with your car are going to be your choice/decision regardless of peoples opinions. My Suggestion would be to ask what some of the 'basic' installations/customizations on a stock 240 would be. {that's where you're gunna get your repeated answers and recognize where you might want to focus the majority of the money} [Maintenece, Coilovers, wheels/tires] Rather than asking "How would you spend $5000 on a car, I want a dope engine... a phat lookin ride... tight a$$ interior and a banging system." :P
Or... just ignore everything I just wrote, Follow Ayuaddict's advice::
