whats overdrive
hey i saw a car for sale it says its a auto with overdrive. i was just wondering wat overdrive was. wat is it?

it is a gear ratio that is over 1:1 meaning the transmission rotates faster than the engine for improved fuel economy.

overdrive is the 4th gear in the transmission. if you turn it off the tranny will stay in 3rd gear. overdrive shifts you into a higher gear. keeping your overdrive on can save you gas. especially on freeways

i swear to god...i see it in my brother's volvo on the gear selector console thingy and im like.....omfg im such a dip****!!!wtf is overdrive?!?!?!?
