will this work?

If I buy an engine, that has an automatic tranny, and use my 5spd tranny, what will need to changed on the engine? Just the flywheel?

The engine is the only thing being replaced... ka24e. I'm replacing it with a lower mile one.

it's a difference of what... $3000?

I'm going with the ka24de I think anyways... sr20det is nothing compared to ka24de-t... for the same price you can have one very nice ka24de..... MORE POWER!

use your existing 5 speed tranny with it's flywheel and clutch, and you won't need anything, it'll bolt up to this new engine. Take off that slushbox auto tranny

I've seen places that sell $1500 for a sr20det

or you can always keep the tranny on and switch the engine. Thats always a better thing to do

If thats the case check this site out.

http://www.flashoptions.com/product.asp?prodID=81

It has a clip for $1800. Just look around if that isnt the right clip. I might be mistaken but check out the site anyways.

Then turbo the hell out of the KA! Its been done and very successful if I might add. Though my boy has a sr20det in his 1993 240sx. Its very sick. Runs really fast. Easy 22psi of boost He also said its plug and play so you can even install the engine yourself like he did.

Well good luck and have fun

Good luck keeping it together, What system? or custom setup? do you plan on going internal? If you want to make any real power you'll need to. by the way Flashoptions will rip you a new a$$ hole, they are no good

On A/T engines, there's a pilot converter on the rear end of the crankshaft.
On M/T engines, there's a pilot bushing. Remove the pilot converter and install a pilot bushing.
