Take a look at the stickies in the forum as well as ka-t.org if you haven't already. i would advise you to really take your time, spend your money wisely, and of course avoid shortcuts where possible. the fuel system, engine management, and turbo/manifold are really where you want to concentrate your budget.

It's definitely the good way to go. I bought a lot of things from E-bay and they actually held up for over a year. Do some research and come back--I'm sure we'll be happy to answer any of your questions that you might have.

JGS SOHC KA24E Manifold

edit

i just read the rest of your post... if you are considering an sr swap... stop this progress... if you know thats what you want, why would you spend money on this setup... to do it properly you will need to spend money bro... yea i built my initial kit cheap, but i put money into maintaining and adding better parts

Maybe if alot of the stuff you get is for free, but probably not. Even if you got alot of stuff for free or really cheap and only spent 3-400 it probably wouldnt last you for long. If you dont have much money decide on what you want first and foremost and concentrate on spending money on that and that alone. Spending money on a setup you dont plan to use a few months from now is a waste of money taken from the setup you really want.

as i always say drifting is not about power....

watch this video bro its from a drift practice i was in

the gold 240sx and the ae86's has a bone stock NA motor and the drifts the whole track.... its not power and i hate that a lot of people have that idea... i drifted for 3 years with NA conditions... take this cash you got right now and focus on your suspension and rear if anything.

more power with sloppy suspension is backwards in my book
we are not trying to get on you, but its just not wise to do so if you know what your primary goal is bro.

spend your money right and maximize your funds

yea... like i said... the diagrams don't get any better.. you just look at the ecu... just as it is in the picture and count the wires

and who doesn't love a turbo motor, but that sound is not worth you losing money bro lol... if we didn't care about you lol... we say do it do it lol... but we are just trying to minimize horror stories lol...
