A Volvo Turbo on a Stock SOHC KA24E?

I am a new owner of a 1990 240sx KA24E and a mechanic who has a MK4 Supra 2JZ Single Turbo who is running 28lbs of boost, told me that I could put a 5LBS of Boost Turbo on the 240sx with stock internal as long as I get the right manifold. Is this true or is he just trying to make a sale? Thanks.

1. any turbo can be mated to any car

2. you can run more than 5 psi on a stock motor if you have a good tune

3. 5psi with a t25 is much different then 5psi on a Gt35r

check out the KA-t Basics link.. top of the page bro.

Whoops, I forgot to say that he told me that the Turbo Volvo used in there cars can work with the stock KA24E. Is this true? That is what he said, and if it is true where can I find a Turbo Manifold that will work? Thanks.

Did you not just read what biggamehit posted?

You can use it but you'll have to make a manifold (which you are probably not capable of) depending on what turbo it is.

Wow, I posted it without looking first. How hard is it to make a manifold? The plan and schematics needs to be draw out first, right?

yea you don't even have to design a manifold with a smaller turbo with that brother..

some of the volvo turbo have a flange with a circle on it that will not bolt up standard flange.... i cant locate the picture.. ill find it
you would have to buy one, chop and weld the new flange on ...

to make it easy on you bro... just go with an T25 or T28 setup and you can run the SR dump/downpipe in

but be warned if you are looking for big bang power, this is not your poison.... will chock the KA out, but will be fun as hell man. The Valvo turbo is very very older technology ( if you talking OLD vovlo)

i am not trying to be harsh on you dude..hope you are not taking it that way,, i just have change my approach on helping.. much of the info is already listed around the forum.

Ok, so a stock SOHC KA24E can handle a T25, correct? Where is a good place to get them from because I searched on Google and so many links came up. Thanks.

I have decided that I am going to put the Garrett T25 on the stock KA24E. Where and what Turbo Manifold should I use since there are so many. I was looking at the Megan Racing Turbo Manifold, is that a good one?

I plan on getting the BRM four inch exhaust for $450.00.

You will be good with a 3 inch exhaust, so just consider that in the cost.

What is the FMIC? I most likely know what it is but I am not geeting it from the acronym. The blow of is going to be the HKS one. It sounds like this, "Errrr Pssh Pshh Pssh." I am sure it is the HKS SQV but can someone make sure that I am right? What down pipe do you guys use? Thanks.
