5k rpm rev limiter in every gear!! help!!

every time i go up to 5k rpm, theres a limiter that wont let me go beyond that point. it happens in every gear...the stock limiter is supposed to be only on 4th and 5th ( if im not mistaken)...but this is weird. earlier today, it was fine. this happened all of a sudden. during the whole day, it has been running fine and even now it's running good. so what could cause the limiter?

could resetting the ecu fix it??

go ahead and try resetting the ecu. then read the diagnostic codes. besides, power dies after 5k and you want to take it easy on these old motors

check your maf connector. If it's loose and not getting full signal it will cut out due to it not reading correctly. Happened to me once and I couldn't go past 3k.

EDIT: You fixed it, didn't show up at first. But I'll leave the info for anybody else who may need it.

omg..it came back..

wow all of a sudden i started to get the limit again. all i did was run up the band a couple times just to feel it again. then like an hour later, its back. i just installed an intake so all the hoses are all in check. (aem gave me some sh**** hoses, one was cracked and they didnt fit right with my sensors) i guess ill just have to get it diagnosed or soemthing..

Reset the ECU again. When I did my custom intake I had to do it twice. Don't ask me why I have no idea. First time, ran like ****, reset again...big *** power increase and no problems.

yea, ill do it again. what i noticed was when i drive really hard for a bit, the limit will come. then after that, if i start driving really soft, shifting at 2500 or so, itll go away in a little. its pretty bizarre...
