Rev Limiter

My 240 has the KA DOHC. I love racing this car! It's fairly quick for being bone stock. Now the thing is, when I'm racing, usually Tegs or Altimas, the rev limiter kicks in. Now this is a serious pain in the a@#! I was wondering, if anybody, has done anything to their car to get rid of the rev limiter. I have asked a few people and they all said the same thing. "It's gonna cost a whole lot of $$$"
So if someone would let me know.....that would be great!

ROLL TIDE!

I don't know too much about 240sx's but i do know that if you were to buy an ecu that it wouldn't have the kill chip for the top speed or whatever

ok...you say revlimiter.
are you talking about wangan style racing?
if you are talking about streetracing
then you should be careful...

you wont be reving to 8,000 rpm safely anytime soon unless you have a nice head job....
just because the KA gets real unstable up in the real high RPM range
the revlimite is a good thing.
you can get a rev/speed meter and bump up the rev limit a few hunderd rpm..but you will rink losing your engine
alotta KA's self destruct up in them ranges

if you want to beat hondas then think about giving the engine more air at upper RPM's, and some torque down low

awww ***it

Never said anything about drag racing. Its just that where I am from a whole lot of people like to race their cars to the limit. And I know I shouldnt be, but I am one of them. There are lots of freeways around here too, so that kind of racing is usually what happens here in ATL. I just get tired of racing Tegs or something and my rev limiter kicking in at 5th gear, 5000rpm. Its just a little annoying.

if you are gona do it right get a rev/speed meter and reset the limit
so you dont blow your engine
seen alotta people remove the revlimiter and not pay attention and engine blow

if your talking about the rev limiter in each gear just shift before redline. near 5500 is peak RPMs on a stock KA24DE anyways. if youre talking about the 118 top out governor you can either deal with it or spend the $100 and get a greddy speed cut and have someone wire it up for you. otherwise enjoy the KA the way it is haha.
