9000rpm ka24de?

i was wondering if it was possible to make a ka24de rev at 9000rpm and be still reliable. what would it take to make a ka rev very high with good high end torque?

there is no engine imo that is or will continue to be reliable at 9krpms.

my question is why would you even think about doing this, was you're previous car a honda?

Yeah, 9000 RPMS is pushing the limits a little, people build higher revving motors for racing applications, however, these engines do break things quite often, and most of the items they tear apart require a rebuild of the engine to some degree.

I had a 4 Cylinder race car built by Team Mopar, and they raised the limit from 6800 to 8200 and that was pretty reliable . . . .for a track-only race car that never really saw public roads. There wasn't much mileage on the engine after the rebuild, but if you plan on street and highway racing, which most people who build engines on these forums do, then you're going to want to build for power and reliability as much as possible.

:::::EDIT::::: Oh, and there's really no such thing as "High End Torque" as that's usually referred to as horsepower.

AMS just came out with a fully counterweighted crank shaft, it's possible to make a higher revving KA that actually makes power after 5500 now.

So What?

The KA is a great motor, especially once built correctly. Lots of displacement for such a small motor and great amounts of torque.

Remember, Carroll Shelby said it himself "Horsepower sells cars, torque wins races."

i think that what the guys that are saying is that while ka truck engine is great. truck engines are not meant to be reved high. they are meant produce most if not all of their hp, and mainly torque at low rpms.

thats fine and but its not a truck motor. lol. wtf, a motor is a motor am i right? morons stereotype ka's as a "truck motor" and try to put it down. i dont get it. to my knowledge it was released in a 240 first. older harbodies had a z24 and didnt get the ka24e until 1990. um 240s came out in late 88 so, yea.

LOL, technically the Viper's V10 is a "truck motor" as well.

I'm gonna agree with jramosthe1st! on this one, I think the guy meant that the engines designed for trucks are meant to produce low end torque not high RPM horsepower. Although this one can, it usually takes a bit of refinement before it does ^_^

NA KA that could rev and effectively make power to 8k rpms would be fun, but a turbo KA that is built to rev and make power to 8k rpms would be even better!
