Hey guys..I'm new to messing around with A/C, but the last week my AC was working fine..Ice cold..it goes hot and cold sometimes like its running out of freon but I thought nothing of it. Two days ago, my AC stop working. My AC fan belt spins with the motor. The only real thing I notice different is that the a/c light on the center console doesnt turn on anymore. I'm not sure what the car should sound like or how the compressor should sound when Its working. I tried a search, but not too many posts on AC. Any idea guys? Could the a/c going hot and cold be the compressor dying, and now since the light wont light up its dead? OR what should I do? I checked all my fuses as well. Thanks ahead of time

 

Chances are, its low on refrigerant. The compressor has a safety switch so that it shuts off when its low. That way, the compressor doesn't lock up.
