Air filters should be replaced anywhere from 20k-40k. I would say around 30k is a good time

I do mine every year, they're cheap and easy to swap. I might drive 15-20k per year.

right. go out and buy a K&N drop in. and kable.. you probably need a new fuel filter too (if even your air filter is still oem).. and no, those things are cotton.. have some common sense.. 11 year old cotton... hmmm.. i wonder if /that's/ any good.

btw: The drop-in k&n is almost as good as the cone, pull out the resonator under the fender (where the pipe that goes down from the air-box leads) & it'll be practically as good, thats the fastest resperation you can get for your car.

didnt know it was cotton, never really looked, so if i knew it was cotton, maybe i couldve had some common sense. its been replaced and the fuel filter was swapped out when i first got the car

that is very very nuts.. an s13 with under 70K miles..
*drops jaw.

d00d, take care of it.. lol.. you've seen all the problems us 150Kmile-up S13 owners are having hahaa..

-Idle irregularities
-engine rumbling
-timing chain problems
-lifter/valve lash
etc..

that's pretty nuts that you have that low mileage.

but anyways... every 15K miles is the general rule of thumb.

since you have such low mileage, might as well just get a a k&n drop in. $45 for the rest of the life of your car.
all you have to do is clean it and re-oil it every once in a while

and yes, please do remove that air hose that runs from the turn signal to the intake box. It's completely useless, and i don't think nissan put it there for air delivery..
gives the engine a nice intake growl/surge noise on WOT too
