Bigger injectors, MAF, CAMS

I have done searching but have not been able to get a definate answer to my question. I am looking at putting pdm cams in my KA, with bigger injectors, cobra MAF and possible an ECU. I was wondering if my aging ka (100K mi) could handle the strain, or if i would want to rebuild completely.

Put them on. If it can handle it, you'll find out.
If it doesnt. Take the parts off & swap them over to the rebuilt motor.
You arent exactly adding a ton of power
(Like nitrous oxide) so I dont see why it wouldnt.
But it's all in the tuning.

Putting different cams in doesn't add much power in themselves. The thing with cams is that they provide a higher lift and/or a longer duration for the valves. With tuning, that is where you can find more power. So like project said, you wont be adding much more strain to your motor, you'll just be letting it breathe easier and more efficiently

I don't see the point in upgrading the MAFS and the injectors if you aren't gonna have more air entering the chamber as you would compared to a turbo engine.

Yeah you gotta be careful, you don't wanna run to rich or too lean, cams prolly won't require the need of those specific items. Maybe instead of spending money on those sorts of things, you could put more money into the head itself. New springs, valves, etc. to match up nicely with the new cam. Tuning as well. The Ka has good displacement, but needs to breath better. IMO

Thanks for the help. Artic, you are saying that the MAF and bigger injectors wont provide any more power? Or that the hp gain is not worth the ammount of money for a n/a engine?

I didn't say they wouldn't provide more power, but thier potential wouldnt be used since you usually upgrade the MAF and injectors when you have a greater amount of air flowing into the chamber. Usually FI systems increase the amount of air going in, ad tehrfore requiring a better MAFS and injectors. Not worth the money at this point. You should be fine with just the cams and some tuning.
