Boost Designs Built Turbo Block... NA?

I was taking a look at Boost designs Built Turbo Block With Mani&DP

What do you think about this motor as a NA motor with some hotshot headers. I have no idea, that's why I'm asking. My motor is old and I want to replace it with something reliable and a little Umph.

was the boos design issues ever cleared up??? there was an issue about it on the forums...
if it has been taken care of then this seems like a good deal... the parts in the block as well as the machine work is about right... the only thing i would think about is using the stock rods... forged rods run from about 700 to 1000 for a set... but the price seems good...
not to mention 400 hp is a lot of UMPH...

well i was looking at it and its got a 9:1 comp ratio which is still good for a n/a motor so i think if u wanted to you could put some hot shot headers and intake maybe change the cams since i think the one in it are turbo cams and youd have a good and powerfull motor..this is what i thought ...hope it helps

9:1 is close to stock. It should be higer for NA power.

Yeah i've been thinking it over and this engine is running pretty good for now. Maybe I should just get a cheep KA from someone doing a SR swap and build it myself. Put the parts I want in it. Get to know the motor better. I just hope I don't screw something up so i'll give myself alot of time to do everything.

You will find KA's for cheap on craigs list, that is where the sr swappers are gettin rid of those engines. Or if you want to go really cheap you can get a NAPS-Z24 block all KA parts and internals work.....NAPS-z blocks go for around $300 or less.
If you wan't a HIGH REV KA with really high top speeds you can also look for 2.0/2.2 litre NAPS-Z blocks. Although you will lose alot of the low end power it will move to the high end when you destroke, and your redline will be significantly higher. Then you can use NAPS-Z forged internals "rods and pistons" at 2.0/2.2, use the KA crank which is also the "Z24 crank", mill the KA head for really high compression. Install CA18det retainers and springs and you can have a really quick high rev KA, with much higher top speeds.....
