you said on a stock motor, he said depending on what mods you have. also not to take anything away from him, but he said he makes test pipes, a hollow pipe with flanges. you can't assume from that he knows what hes talking about, buts it is possible he knows more than that.
when i said depending on mods i ment things like a turbo, better cams or something of that sort in which case you would see more power. but you will see any where from 5-15 horse power out of a stock good conditon 240 that means a 240 that runs good without any major problems.

people - running a "test pipe" (fancy, not-so-illegal way of saying straight pipe) affects the engine output like changing to a free flowing exhaust - it doesn't add much, but it gives the engine more room to breathe, which in turn would produce more horsepower numbers that changes as you up the engine power with other parts. You're telling me that the cat is more restrictive than a stock muffler? then with a free-flow exhaust and a straight pipe, I would gaine 10-15 more on top of the "supposed" 10-15 from the test pipe alone? DOn't you think if this was fact, then there would have been companies coming out with high-flow cats way back when plain exhaust was just becoming popular?
Bring in a turbo engine and it's a different story, but on a n/a KA you're butt dyno is producing that 10-15 "extra" hp.

What size are the flanges on an s14 cat? Mine is crapped out and I think I'm just going to test pipe it since FL has no emissions tests. I don't want to order the wrong size; I want something that will bolt on nice and tight.
