Car just quit???

So I was sitting in line at a drive-thru in nuetral and all of a sudden the car just quits. I crank, it fires up and quits again. Does this like three times. I finally crank it up and get on the gas to get it move. I gave it a quick lookover afterwards but I haven't had a chance to get out under the hood and really check it so any ideas?

Air Idler. check to see if that hose is not cracked or pinched. also MAF check to see if its plugged up.. with out that car will not idle.

maf, alt, plugs, fuel, vacuum lines, oil pressure... could be anything at this point but these will start you off.

oh yes yes yes....... good point out bro.. check that voltage across the alt. if its below 12.5 its done. thats the lowest it can ever get before frying out. a good alternator and battery combo will yield at least a constant 13.5 at least with lights heat blah blah blah on.

my alternator is on it's last limb too. that is a possibility. have you recently changed anything on the intake system? you might just need to turn the idler screw a bit

Nothing. I took the intake piping off and cleaned the throttle body a couple of days ago. That's it! Drove the car back and forth to work tonight and no problems. I'm gonna go over everything tommorrow morning. Thanks people.

No more problems. The only thing I saw when I checked it out this morning was that I forgot to tighten one of the clamps on the intake piping coupler when I put it back on after cleaning the throttle body.

That hasn't happened to me since then, it had to be that loose coupler on the intake causing the problem.

When the car died it was acting like it was before I cleaned the MAF with the bogging and choking so that had to be the problem.
