Cheap DIY Improvements on DOHC Head

Hey, I'm getting a 91 head of my friend's KA and was gonna work on it a little before installing it in my car. I was wondering if anyone had any guides/tips on DIY stuff I can do to the head. So far I have some mild(cleaning) porting and polishing by hand of the head and possibly running an exhaust cam in place of the intake cam. Ive been searching around for a guide on installing the cams but all I keep reading is moving the cam over 4 teeth. i'm not exactly sure what that means. If anyone knows of some freebie mods I can do on the head before it gets installed and specifics on installing the exhaust cam on the intake side, it would be great. Thanks in advance.

EDGAR we told you NOTHING comes cheap.

Especially head work.

Dont make me hit you.

You need to do some better research. Go buy a FSM.

Edgar buy a dremel kit, and a MM tool kit if you do your own porting, honing and polishing........
As far as the teeth go if you look at the exhaust cam on the exhaust side it is set back when compared to the intake side........
That means you need to counter clockwise "advance" the exhaust cam on the intake side 4 teeth..........
It is much easier to just buy an adjustable timing gear sprocket....
Rip out the butterfly's on that 91 mani of yours, west covina doesn't get that cold.........
Might as well put in titanium retainers while you are at it.........

I'm not gonna completely pnp the head, Just some cleaning inside, that's all. BTW, i already have the FSM, but it doesn't state how to install the exhaust cam on the intake side. Just looking for other "freebie" mod. I'm gonna leave any dremmeling to a machine shop.
