decodeing the engine/block numbers

i have a couple of SOHC engine sitting in my garage but im not sure from what year cars they can out of? so basically what i would like to know is how to decode the numbering on the block to know what year the engine was produced. any help would be greatly appreciated because im completely clueless at the moment.

They are either an '89 or a '90 model, if they are 240SX blocks...

as far as "Decoding Them" I have no clue...

If you see the tops of the pistons, and they are FLAT, no dish, that is an early '89 with higher compression...

What "Codes" are on them?
