Do these make a difference ?
Getting 9 or 10 mm spark plgu wires cauz im changing my plugs.. does this even make a diff or matter at all ?

i read somewhere that for a daily driver not only will you not notice any gains, but could cause problems. i don't remember specifics but i read it on the internet so it must be true.
if they are for your dd just get ngk wires and plugs. http://www.ngk.com/default.asp |
THe size of the plug wire makes no difference at all. Most of the time if it's some crap brand like APC, they're just measuring the outside silicone size. The inside core is still the same as O.E. style wires. Accel and MSD have come up with some new race wires that are 5.5 mm. What you really need to pay attention to is ohms and resistance. :ylsuper:

The only wires that I have heard make a significant difference are Nology wires, which are rediculously expensive for a stock replacement. Just go with stock replacements, it's not like you're running an aftermarket ignition.

I have the NGK ones. They are blue. They look neet

Nology wires do not make a difference. Have had them on two cars and not only did I not see a gain (dynoed), but on my mr2, they actually cause a problem and had to be removed.
Spark plug wires can only hurt, not gain. Meaning a crappy set could cause problems, so just get a quality brand or OEM. I have always gone with the standard NGK |
yup i just ordered some new ones from nissan 70 bucks
|
so the internet didn't lie to me.

... but on my mr2, they actually cause a problem and had to be removed.... I had the same issue with my Celica alltrac. I was told the Toyota OEM wires are higher quality than anything else on the market, even the 600 hp guys run them. |
Ugh I'm wrong again. I'm just going to stop posting now :sad2:
