exhaust?

I was wondering if I get an exhaust now thats best for my na 240 then I swap or turbo my Ka am I gonna have to get a whole new exhaust with bigger plumbing. Also everyone on altimas.net does custom exhaust. Can I do that with my 240 instead of paying for one. And does anyone have dual exhaust. I think it would look bad *** with two pipes sticking out the back. Kind of like a Stang.

IMO, Dual exhaust is a waste on all Inline cars. Extra useless weight, but if you want to go ahead. Since you are going to turbo in the future, go for 3" custom piping to a muffler(ebay). Quite a few people do custom piping, nothing wrong with it.

yeah i agree with jynx....dual pipes do look good, but they are a complete waste of space, money, and weight. But hey, its your ride bro.

duel exaust is pointless on I4 cars,IMO the reason for duel pipes from each bank of a "V" engine is for more flow. it's like splitting your exaust manifold in two and running duel pipes, one from each piece. that would be real duel exaust tho'

Its ganna be loud(to certain people)but to me its just right. And I would run a resonator...unless your cops around the area arent dicks.

^^Dual exhausts does look kick ***, if your car is a show car or if you dont worry about weight...do it. But for me, just a big waste.

I personally always liked buying exhausts because MFG ones seem to always fit best and look best with the least amount of issuses as far as craks and leaks....Just my opinion...Plus, you get the Bling factor of saying you a a HKS, or Greddy, or Apexi, etc..

Save the money you'd spend on an extra muffler and piping and buy something else for your car, like an intake or something

And I agree - nothing wrong with a custom exhaust as long as the shop is reputable and they do mandrel bending on all the pipes. If you want bling factor, then go for a full system like Greddy or HKS etc. but that bling factor will cost you another $300-400 over a custom made one at a good muffler shop (and you get to select the piping).

just a thought, didnt/dont the current s2000's have dual exhaust? can anyone explain why they went with that setup, i know the manufacturers are usually pretty practical with their setups so why the dual?

the S2000's exhaust is tuned for the engine - meaning it's sized properly for a 4-banger... at least that's what I was told. But mainly it's for looks since it was their anniversary model. Same with the Accord V6's that came out with dual exhaust - they quietly play to the Import tuner crowd ala Type-R stuff.
