Flowmaster

Looking for a low tone decent sounding muffler, no special tip. Would a flowmaster 60 series be too loud? Demo is on a 1.8 Integra. 2.4L make it a lot louder?

Depends on your taste of sound. I like it myself.

But ofcouse i'll be using 2 3.5" 2 chamber flows here right shortly.
I'm a big supporter of flowmaster.

I have a flowmaster magnaflow muffler on my 240. Love it. I have no ide of the series or anything but it's on it's second car now and doing wonderful.

I had it on my 98 altima before it was smashed to hell and back. That 98 ka24de had header, intake and that muffler. It sounded nice and deep, not like a v8 mind you but when you laid on it you didn't sound like another honda coming down the street.

You can see pictures of what it looks like on my 240 on my cardomain site if you are curious about that.

altimas.net says they like the 40 series the most. it's the loudest but they say the 2.4L is just enough to have no rice at all. They say when you stomp on it it's freaking loud but at normall cruising it has the annoying drone sound of any straight through.

50 series is the same but quieter.

60 is made for smaller displacement and i imagine it'd sound kinda weird on something over 2.0 L

the big resonator might be why you hate the sound????? I think its a shame when a 240 is made to sound like a pissed off weedwhacker. or the horrible "bumblebee-farting-in-a-can" sounds made by cheap exhaust and a poorly tuned car.

some people prefer not to have headaches after hearing the drone of a muffler for a 30 minute freeway trip

On the altima it was a bit loud but not that "kill your ears" loud. My girlfriend and I drove over 600 miles once with header, stock cat, small resonator and flowmaster muffler. You could hear it when you put your foot down for sure but when cruising it was nice and quiet.

On my 240 sans header & resonator it is pretty quiet all the time.. You can hear the KA over the exhaust.

Lightbulb

Get either a Magnaflow or a RS*R muffler they got the best sound and I know at least both of them should give you some small gains in Hp -NEO
