Free Mods, how to?

I recently saw some free mods on this forum and was wondering if anyone who has done them can write out a good how to for each one? Here are the ones I saw...
1. EGR block off from the exhaust manifold
2. Intake manifold water bypass
3. MAF sensor block off valve

Thanks for any help

First of all... where's the MAF sensor valve?

EGR block off - remove the tube from the back of the header, plug the hole, remove the rest of the stuff on the other side of the tube, plug the vacuum lines.

you can also take out your engine drivin fan and wire the stock electic up to an ignition swich. the fan is in front of the rad and the blue wire coming off the fan motor is the power wire the black is a ground. thats what i did works good but keep an eye on your temp cause you dont want to over heat (i've had no problems)
another free mod is advance your ignition timing 5 to 7 degrees but be sure and run 91 octane or better.

I believe the MAF sensor is in the air intake system but I don't know how blocking it off would help you. Speaking of which why would you want to block off your EGR valve?

There is no such thing as a MAF sensor valve... he's probably confused with the EGR system

EGR - exhaust gas recirculation... basically it lets some of the exhaust gasses return to the intake system. It's for smog purposes, but if you think about it letting burnt gases and possibly unburnt fuel into the intake side of the engine = dirty.

Maybe I don't understand what you are talking about, but do you mean pretty much eliminating the MAF? I thought you needed that...

I mean I've heard of replacing it with a MAP sensor to use with ITB's and Megasquirt , but never getting rid of it.

About the EGR removal, I did that and it really doesn't make any difference (that I noticed).

I never said anything about removing the MAFS. I was just pointing out in the first post about the "MAF sensor block off valve" which does not exist.

I noticed yesterday that the car will not run with out the intake tube hooked up. I assume that its because the MAF. Does any one know what the ecu looks for from the MAF? is it a constant voltage or certain ohm?

it's variable voltage depending on how much air passes through.

1. Remove mechanical fan.
2. Advance timing to 23 degrees and use 93 octane.
3. Clean all grounding points and use higher guage wire for maf ground.
4. Remove slack in the accelerator and cruise control cables.
5. Port Match the exhaust side.
