fuel injectors
fuel injectors
i have been noticing a smell of gas every so often on my car, i noticed today that at one of the injectors that there is a collection of dirt. also a little bit of fuel has came out where the injector goes in, so i assumed thats where teh fuel smell is coming from lol. so what are your suggestions on some injectors that are good but not expensive. my engine is bone stock w/ around 150k miles. as of now i don't plan on keeping the motor but its got to last me atleast another year or so. but who knows i may be keeping it.
also its a 1990. thanks in advance

If you dont plan on doing any power upgrade work, just replace the injectors/o-rings with OEM equivelants. Its shouldnt be a hard task. And will help seeing that it seems you have a clog or malfuntioning injector
yeah as of now i don't plan on doing anything to that motor, will an auto parts store carry the injector o ring? if the injector is clogged how do i fix that? but if the injector is malfuntioning shouldn't i replace it? thanks for your help
Just replace it completely. Its old so might as well replace it. Go to an autoparts store. They should carry your injector size and the o-rings. Autozone, advanced auto, pep boys, etc.
yea dude just make sure they give you the right size o-rings if you go to advance auto etc, you will have to take one of your o-ring with you to match overall diamete and thickness. when i had an sohc i changed mine out and they were all wrong, fuel was spraying out from everywhere. so i had to get on my knees and find the other ones that i discarded. they were all broken.......................... so i had to use the broken o-rings with rvt. it actually worked for about a month while i was at college. also its a snap to change.. the night that the rvt seal blew out, i was on my way to a car meet. and bam all i smell is fresh fuel.... so i get out of my car in the middle of traffic with my new o-rings in hand and i installed all four of them in about 25min tops.
oem injectors are fairly cheap
i use thepartsbin.com for OEM parts they even have some performance stuff. pretty good site awesome shipping. here are the items you need. i also got most of my custom stuff and turbo gadgets there

na.... this was so long ago ... but it was funny that same night i ran into a guy who owns two GT-R's and as we were leaving, i was looking into his tail lights and almost crashed lol
i put new o rings on the injectors today and when i put them back in fuel was spraying everywhere, so i was thinking maybe i have the wrong ones, and so i put the old ones back in and the 1st time all was spraying then i undid everything and tried it again and then the two from the back where spraying so i tried again and now all are spraying again, is there some speciall trick i need to do? thanks
did you replaced top and bottom o rings? and make sure they are the right size? and lubed them with engine oil so they wont rip when reinstalling? and tightened the caps with the rubber insulators still intact?
