fuel problem and pissed off!!!!!!

I have a 1992 Nissan 240SX with 80k mileage ka24e that I just dropped in.

having a fuel problem of some sort not sure why and its retarded..

my car only wants to start when shoot gas into the throttle body and it'll run for a few seconds and dies but if i keep on the gas and reving the car stays running.

But when i shut the off and try to re-start it back up in the next 30 seconds it wont start!!!!!!

To get the car to re-start I gotta shoot some more god damn gas into the throttle body and then I try starting again and it fires right up fine.

The fuel pump is working becasue if i just turn the key without starting the engine i can hear the pump working and stuff..

I"m thinking its a fuel filter if you guys would think that too or any other help would be great too,...

But also I tried by-passing the filter didn't know if it would matter or work but i was like what da hell and i tried it.

So I by-pass the fuel filter and try starting the car but a No-Start...So I get out of the car again and shoot more gas into the throttle body and go try starting it again and there she goes and fires right up.

Hook the fuel filter back up the way its soppose to be and try starting it again without shooting any more gas into the throttle body but it was a No-start again!!!!

So I get out for like the 100th time and shoot more gas into the throttle body and it fires up again .

Fuel pump is working, i hear it working, there's a quater of a gas in the gas tank.

What do you guys think of this???

I've got a big *** chilton's repair manual for the 240, was gonna flip through the troubleshooting section and try to give you some info, but I guess you don't want it since you're "out", call 478-452-5535 and ask to speak to john johnson,or jon jon for short he's a nissan master technician, he can tell about whatever you need to know.

and oh yeah I"m jsut curious, what made you decide to put a sohc in place of the dohc

becuase my dohc blew up and i only had like 400 bucks and **** and i couldn't find any low mileage ka24de's so i just went with a low mileage ka24e.

I can not afford a jdm engine swap right now.

so i just went with other engine i could get that ran and had low mileage that i could drive on for a while till i have money for a ca18det swap.

simple little thing to check... swap the fuel line and the return line... see if you have your fuel lines hooked up backwards... and whats up with the new screen name again??? you spent all that money on parts for the motor that aint even gunna get put in the car??? waist of time and money...

the other thing... did you swap over the sohc wire harness and the ecu??? hope so... good luck... and try the fuel line swap like i said...

lol... the screen names you use give you away... that was one of your aim names...

from the sounds of it... you are loosing fuel pressure after you turn off the key... kinda like a deisel engine... but i have no idea why it would be doing this...

it still sounds like the fuel lines are backwards... i did that to mine and had the same problem you are having... switched em round back to right and it started...

getting new injectors i dont think will solve your problem... mainly because they work when you have your foot on the gas... so it tells me the pump and the injectors are working... im at a loss on this one...
