head verses motor

My recently acuired 89 240 came with a toasted head.Do the rings in these cars have common problems after overheating.
the head is warped really nice,so im guessing that it got pretty hot.

Well I took the engine out and tore it down,the good news is that the rings were fine .But the number three piston was disentigrating,cool huh.
