heater core leak

hey guys...there is a leak coming from the back of the engine just above the starter.

i dunno where it is coming from but i'm suspecting the heater core hoses

where is this damn thing? any pictures or reference to fsm?

could it be the head or most liekly the hose.....and its leaking against my starter connections causing them to rust and working improperly

spray the area with brake cleaner or engine degreaser, rinse, let dry, then start the car and wait for a drip.

clean it like raine said then get a hand mirror... hold it up so you can see what is back there... leaking above the heater would be any of the coolant hoses... both of the heater core hoses are right there on the firewall and if they leaked they would drip onto the starter... if it was the actual heater core leaking it would leak in the inside of the car...

well if something is spotless and then something drips onto it, it'll be easier to see where it's coming from, right?

and you won't be ale to see all of the coolant lines because the intake manifold is in the way; thus try a small mirror and a bright light
