HELP! Installing this intake....
I purchased this intake off eBay and the instructions provided are useless. Has anyone had experience with the OBX intake on a '95? I need help! What is seen in the pics is exactly what I received except the short rubber tube isn't tapered (it's 3 inch to 3 inch) and there were a number of O-clamps provided.

if it is the ka24de you need 2 more rubber adapter for the trottle and for the MAF.

That looks like it's for a SOHC.

That's what I was afraid of. Did the '95+ models even come in SOHC versions?
|
Only '89-'90 had the SOHC.

Thats what I thought. Well I emailed the seller and he says all the parts necessary for this install are included so I asked him for instructions and he emailed me a phone number for someone at OBX that he deals with. I emailed OBX and haven't gotten a response yet. I guess I'll try calling the number tomorrow.
What leads you to believe it's for a SOHC? Is the intake tube missing something it should have for DOHC? I'd really like to know if this will work with what's included or else I feel like I got ripped off and it should be returned. |
The pipe should be curved near the throttle body side. You can see the difference in these Injen pics.

the DOHC curves downwards by the Throttle body. the SOHC stays pretty level
