Sorry, I meant to say K&N...don't know why I put HKS.

K&N is re-usable(Don't beleive the HKS is), the HKS get's real dirty(from what I have heard).

I got a K&N, its humongus, its so big, its meant for a V8 mustang, Iis biguer than the flowmetter itself. I don't know if its wet type, but it had oil in it, when i bough it said "factory pre oiled". It works fine and its in a cone shape, But the oil got into the metter and then all hell broke loose. Engine was failing, stalled when I stopped, sometimes would " double acelerate" while getting up speed, sometimes died as soon as it started when i turned it on. Then I Cleaned the metter, and it runs Beatifully. Thats what I heard that happends with oiled filters and thats what happened to me. Also I know this is out of the fourum, but while I took the box out were the original filter was, I never figured out what was that litle hose that runs to it, from some metalic part, that had a pipe to the exaust and some toher ruber ones, its a mess, I don't see any use to it and I don't know for what its for, if u guys know please tell me.

spellchecker.

if filter oil got into the motor, then there was too much filter oil on the filter in the first place. K&N oils all their filters just enough to do the job. I've seen some people flood the filter mesh with filter oil thinking it'll make it perform more... you sure you didn't add any oil before installing?
