homemade cai

i have a question, i have a 91 240 and i was wondering if i made a cai by myself would it do the same thing as a injen intake? i found a site where they show you how to make your own cai but its for a delsol. (http://www.teamdelsol.com/ go to information/howto and its in there). does anyone know if this way would work on my car or not.

Thats one way to do it, but you can also use 2 ebay intakes(the cheap ones) Throw out both intakes and mix and match the piping. I beleive Raine has a idea on how to do it

There is very little difference between the two, I'm sure you will not notice it that much

PLUG! lol

...anyhoo, yeah pick up like 2 of those generic intakes on Ebay ($25-30ish each). When you get them from the old brown shorts guy (UPS) install one as directed, so you have yourself a short ram intake installed. Then, keeping everything else in place, take off only the air filter. Now grab the 2nd intake pipe and with a little twisting and meneuvering you'll get it to mate up to the MAF... then a little trimming down below to position the air filter (which would now sit under the fender). I'd show you how but my friend crashed his car so it's gone

that could but to get out of the ticket you need to have a C.A.R.B. serial badge that comes with the injen intakes

yeah I meant the carb thingy... but I know what you mean - people have asked if it's enough to put the actual "INJEN" sticker on their piping (I used to work at a car shop) LOL

...as if Cops will say "oh - Injen. Okay it's legal"... they can't even differentiate between an aftermarket exhaust, and a stock muffler with a welded on 4" tip
