Hotshot Header Questions

For those who have bought these headers for you KA24DE, did you have a Check Engine Light issue like their website talks about? I'd like to hear from everyone, but specifically if you have a '95 and up.

yup yup i started out with an evap code then after i put the headers on i had like 3 codes. :dunno:

ANOTHER_240sx 04-20-2003 07:05 PM

why dose the check engine light come on?

SoloDrift1 04-20-2003 09:44 PM

its sumthin with the O2 sensors. they suggest relocating the second sensor behind the resesonator because with their headers the o2 sensor reads incorrectly.

Supposedly the '95+ have 2 O2 sensors, one before the cat and one after. Since the headers replace where the stock cat goes, they have a fitting on the headers for the 1st sensor. They recommend adding a high-flow cat and placing another fitting after the cat for the 2nd sensor after the cat. This will correct the problem, but I was wondering if it was even a problem.

yeah i think it is. evap is for some vacum leak i have. the second code was an egr code i believe (could be the sensor on the side of the headers). and the third was sum BS code that nissan put so that i would run back to them so that they can tell me they hafta charge me 2 million dollars to get me a new gas tank cap. :nono:

but if you're not throwing any code then you should be straight. i am and need to get it fixed before emissions testing.

Sil, screw the emisions testing.

Get your sister to register your car out in Johnson City. Its only $25..and NO EMISSIONS TESTS!

That **** has saved my ass, there is no way my car would pass in Nashville.
