How hard is it to make NA 13sec in the 1/4mile

I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on how hard it would be to get the KA non turbo in the 13's in the 1/4 mile. With the old school Z's it's not that hard , just wondering about the KA 240sx.

well...it could be done...you would need all the bolt ons...intake, exhaust, spark plugs, headers...also, a rebuild of the internals of the engine would be necessary...such as cams, rods, pistons, etc...also, you could get a lightwight driveshaft, and if its a 5spd, get a racing clutch and lightwight flywheel...other than that, i dont know...but its as good a start as any to get there...

Wasn't sure i know it's possible cause i already have a head ported intake and ported polished exhaust, 3 angle valve job, over 500 lift and all the valve train to match from a friend, and i would purchase 10:5:1 compression pistons. Basically a whole engine rebuild would happen and all bolt ons. i do have a non turbo rx-7 so i'm tryin to figure out which car i want to build up.

Its possible. Ive posted it before. All you basic bolt ons like posted above. exhaust, intake, headers, pulleys. Then you got your clutch and flywheel. THEN for 1600 bucks at www.gude.com they have a set with ported and polished head, intake manifold and throttle body and your choice of any of there cams from mild to wild. The head alone gives you about 40hp, i believe that is with cams. This should get you into high 13's I think at least, makes about 200hp N/A.

Unless you invested a ridiculous amount of money into the NA, then you won't make a N/A 13 second car, if it is possible at all. Even with all of the above you'll make maybe 220HP, which i'm pretty sure would get your 14's, I have yet to see a 13 second NA 240, correct me if i'm wrong.

Well if you look at the guys in atlanta. They have a 14.6 KA and he has 91 hot cames, intake, exhuast, headers, clutch and flywhele and broke loose with a 14.6 . If you go to www.nasport.com they all run 200 or more horse KA for their races. Thats all thats allowed for the 240s. And I think you gotta run better than 14's to run in nasport.

Well yea.........the KA was made for bottom end torque. The rx7 has no torque. The porting that can be done to an RX7 is endless. There is this one guy in my area that has a 10 second N/A rx7. Idles like crap, takes off like crap, but once it gets spinning....mmmmmmm

Damn , right now i'm drivin the RX-7 i just got it back to running right took it to atkins and all need was a new tps sensor and it costed 75$. But right now i'm drivin it with a straight pipe exhaust, the only thing i don't like bout it is it runs out of go around 120mph. It has no torque but it's not to bad.

yeah, no way I believe a NA 240 can mak a 13.2! that would be insane. Even after pulleys, port & polish, the full 9 yards you'd only have lower 200rwhp

Well apparently i'm wrong, the information I learned was incorrect and it is possible. 94 Nismo240sx says it's true, I would like to learn how, and aoplogize for insulting him. Care to share how you did it? Especially with an automatic.

What did you learn DR.? I used to be hardcare KA and know that a 200hp + can hit 13's but is not very streetable, or reliable. If hes runnin 13.2 the way ta go man.
