Arrow im stuck!

i have a 97 240, i bought it about a year ago, it ran great. now 1 out of 10 times i start it it misfires. i got nissan stock plugs...nothing happend...rotor cap and button....nothing... i just unhooked the egr but i am waiting to see if it does anything, also when i am driving and i get on it at about 5gs i loose power and when in second gear and the rpms are low (1500-2000) the car starts to jurk. also what is the idle supose to be at? My car has nology wires, injen intake. any advise would be great.

it can be your nology wires if there not properly installed

they were on there when i bought the car and i never had any problems tell resently

SOUNDS LIKE A MAF PROBLEM, have your tried resetting your ecu?

Okay your problem is the nology wires. Nology wires are known to give out unexpectedly. Theres a thread on here titled "nology or magnecor". In that thread is a link to an article about some guy's DSM and how he had a bunch of work done, and it turned out it was his nology wires. The capacitive discharge wires suck... bad. Andh they give minumal gains. Go to a local auto place and get a set of NGK wires. Theyll last a lifetime.. NGK's are top quality

do they perform overall better than the nology wires?

i havn't tried reseting the ecu but i yesterday i unpluged the egr valve and the check engine light still hasnt come on. so i will try that and see what happens.

Nology wires usually will give like 2 hp in the peak of the powerband. The thing is, they go out, and cause them not to fire. I would say they will preform longer than nology. EGR wont do too much to the car if its missing every so often. Change the spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. (all NGK). If that doesnt cure your problem ill buy em myself!

Not really... but im willing to make a bet.

well i guess i will cough the money up for some new wires. i just got plugs about 3 weeks ago from nissan (ngk platnium) a cap like 2 months ago and a rotor button almost 6 months ago or so. but i will try it and let u know. thanks for ur help
