Issue with cylinder #3
I'm in need of some help with my 93 sx, here is the problem and what I've done so far
When I start my car I have to give it some gas or it bogs, after that the idle is fairly stable at about 900rpm but the engine and car shakes. We've traced it to cylinder 3, with the car running we removed the plug for each injector, and the rpm dropped for each cylinder except #3. So here what we've done so far New cap and rotor new spark plugs new injector compression test (140-148-140-148) we have spark, fuel and the injector is getting power The car still bogs down at start up and shakes Any ideas what to look for/try next? I also posted this over at NICO, just want to get as many ideas as possible |
new o rings too?
btw 140 is low, should be around 170. cranked it 5 times right? |
yeah, I replaced the o rings when I got the new injector.
I just kept the key turned and my dad watched the gauge, so I'm guessing we did it wrong? |
I pulled the codes and heres what came up
34 knock sensor 13 coolent temp sensor circuit 14 vehicle speed sensor signal circuit is open |
Your piston head and chamber is full of carbon, so it creates detonation and it vibrates/ bogs. I'll bog because its detonating and the computer turns it off to protect the engine. Sicne you got low compresion, prolly the oil has ben goign up the cilinder walls creatign carbon residue.
Try one of those cans of engine restore, do it in 3 oil changes, It really helps a lot. |
while youre at it, try cleaning off the temp sensor too. might have some calcium build up
