What you should do is look what needs to be replaced internally if it was in a crash. Do that first then look into the external mods

Knock Sensor

while the motor is out you might as well take off the oil pan and check all your barrings and check oil pan for dents.

S14 intake manifold

Why replace the intake mani. with 1 from the S14? Is there a real difference?

Biggamehit 03-11-2008 09:56 AM

no secondary butterfly valves.. and less emissions... and even cleaner when you take the other emissions off.

you would have to change out the TB also

Butterfly's from the s13 manifold consume diameter runner space. This means although the velocity at low RPM is good it hinders any type of high end HP potential. An easy way to resolve this problem is to swap right out to an s14 upper mani and you can re use the s13 lower half of the mani. The goal is to get rid of the horrendous butterly's.
Some people have claimed up to 6hp gains just swapping out the manifolds.

thanks guys..
from what i've been reading up on vinnie's past posts the butterfly's r removable but its jus extra work(ie welding or plugging the holes)...i'll look into the s14 mani's...
