ka going into another car...wat should do?

sup s-chassis memberz..a couple months ago my s13 was stolen and was crashed..now i got a new s13 shell and pulling out the motor from my old car..i was wondering wat i should do since the motor is out of the car...i was thinking timing chain, water pump, all the belts, electric fan and maybe throttle body bypass...not sure on the throtle body bypass yet coz i might have to smog...any opinion is apprecitated..thankx

What you should do is look what needs to be replaced internally if it was in a crash. Do that first then look into the external mods

while the motor is out you might as well take off the oil pan and check all your barrings and check oil pan for dents.

Why replace the intake mani. with 1 from the S14? Is there a real difference?

no secondary butterfly valves.. and less emissions... and even cleaner when you take the other emissions off.

you would have to change out the TB also

Butterfly's from the s13 manifold consume diameter runner space. This means although the velocity at low RPM is good it hinders any type of high end HP potential. An easy way to resolve this problem is to swap right out to an s14 upper mani and you can re use the s13 lower half of the mani. The goal is to get rid of the horrendous butterly's.
Some people have claimed up to 6hp gains just swapping out the manifolds.

O ok i see. But arent the butterflys removable in s13 mani? Yeah Vin. seems to know his **** im new to the site and can see that.

thanks guys..
from what i've been reading up on vinnie's past posts the butterfly's r removable but its jus extra work(ie welding or plugging the holes)...i'll look into the s14 mani's...
