KA Shuts Down

After running the car for some time it will just shut down while I'm driving it. This started last weekend. I haven't had another problem until today. I was running some errands and on the way home and it cuts off. Last weekend, I checked it out, oil, MAF, vaccuum lines, spark, etc. Everything is intact but I can't find a reason for the shutdown. Any ideas?

is it throwing any engine codes or giving a check engine light. First place i would check is to see if it is throwing any engine codes.

Did it fire right back up? Are you at a stoplight or are you moving? Under heavy throttle? We need some more details. I was thinking your battery terminals might be the problem.

I was moving when it shut off at regular speed. The check engine light came on the first time it happened.

check the part of your wire harness that goes across the radiator and fan shroud for cut or bad ground wires. I had same problem a few years ago and found out my fan had been slowlly cutting into the harness.

Hate to ressurect an old thread but I found and fixed the problem. It turned out to be a bad coolant temp sensor. My car would shut down whenever it hit operating temp. It got so that I couldn't drive across town and back without it dying on me. I would let it sit for a hour and half and come back and it would fire up just fine. Well I replaced it and I've been across town and back many times, sat at drive thru's, etc. and no more shutdowns. A $20 fix that takes a 19mm wrench and two minutes to install.
