KA24DE And KA24E
Will both trans fit the same? Im looking to do my swap and like i found a parts car which is an 89 and mines a 91. Could It work? Please let me know. I know this is a noob question probably to most of you guys. But this is how i learn. :P

All the 89-98 240sx manual transmissions are interchangeable mechanically. The later models had both 4th and 5th gear detection switches but it's only a problem if you try to put an s13 trans into an S14.

So i'll have no problem swapping my auto trans in my current motor with one from an older 240? as long as its not an sr20 or S14 correct?

if you have a ka24de NO you cannot use a ka24e trans as it does not have the sensor for the flywheel, however you can use a de trans on an e motor. hope this helps.

Thats for an S14.
.....its the same process. the only difference is under the fuse box in the engine bay of the S13, you are going to wire the inhibitor switch together. and as far as the tranny you can use ANY tranny on a 89-early 95 KA however as stated, you can,t use a 89-early 95 KA trans on mid-late 95-98 KA's due to the Crank Angle Sensor (CAS) |

Right now I am using a rebuilt KA24E tranny for my KA24de, I am however using a KA24de auto ecu. Only OBD2's use the sensor to the flywheel and it isnt located on the tranny. KA24e transmissions only use a 4th gear speed sensor, that regulates fuel and speed. KA24de transmissions use a 4th and 5th gear speed sensor, that regulates fuel and speed. |
